A battery energy storage system (BESS) is a mechanism that allows for the storage of electrical energy in batteries, which reduces your emissions and can be used to power devices or buildings when there is a high demand for electricity. BESS can perform grid support, peak-shaving, manage grid congestion, reduce wastage, enable services such as FCR (frequency containment reserve) and FFR (frequency response reserve), take advantage of time-of-day electricity tariffs to emergency backup functions and reduce the need for significant investment in grid infrastructure.

BESS is available from hundreds of kilowatts to several hundreds of megawatts with storage capacity in the same range.
The system is modular and can consist of one container or several depending on your needs. Several units are linked together when there is a need to generate a high capacity.
Adaptable to all site conditions
If you have unique specifications such as isolation against extreme cold, limited footprint, noise reduction, emission optimized or even if the unit must be portable, your solution can be individually designed and manufactured accordingly.
Proven technology
System architecture is normally based on containers for easy delivery and installation, and include batteries, cooling equipment, converter, safety measures and controls. All solutions are scalable and can be provided for you as an all-in-one package ready to install upon delivery.
Ultra-fast load response
The BESS unit can perform black starts without external auxiliary power supply and can also establish an autonomous grid if required. The system is equipped with remote monitoring and data logging, enabling centralized monitoring and system management from the operation center.
